Since the creation of 5* hotel facilities and golf course in the area of Romanos - Pylos, Messinia has attracted the interest of many famous people.

Hollywood stars, kings and princesses chose the area to have some rest under Greece’s sun.

The Greek - Russian businessman Filaretos Kaltsidis, celebrated in August 2013 the marriage of his daughter, in his private villa in Koroni while many famous international visiotrs attented the event.

Also the Princess of Morocco Lalla Salma, the president of Qatar Abdallah ibn Khalifah Al Thani and decades of famous Greek singers, actors and many more packed their suitcases for the southern corner of the Peloponnese. Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have also planned a visit to the broader area. 

The film "Before the midnight" starring Ethan Hawk, was partly shooted in the area, while there are rummors that the third part of the movie "Sex & the city" will also be shooted in Messinia either September 2014 or Spring 2015.

The Greek minister, Antonis Samaras, has its origin from Messinia and he is visitng the area quite often.
